Bio

Stan Pennock was an impressive player perfectly schooled in the fundamentals of football. A 60-minute player, Pennock was everywhere on the field, joining fellow Hall of Famer "Tack" Hardwick in providing Harvard with one of the most aggressive defenses in Eastern football. During Pennock's career, the Crimson was invincible, demolishing rivals Princeton and Yale while marching unbeaten through 27 straight games. Only ties with Pennsylvania (13-13) and Brown (0-0) marred an otherwise perfect record. The Crimson stood as national champions in each of Pennock's three seasons, out-scoring the competition, 588-61. It was the era of coach Percy Haughton at Harvard, an age of hard-hitting football that included every aggressive facet of the game. The 193-pound Pennock was a three-time consensus All-America selection.
