Big numbers dominate top performers (1)

HOF Performer Week 13

The rivalries are underway and the pressure is on as teams clamor for conference titles and jockey for a spot in the College Football Playoff. Below are the nominees for the Hall of Fame Performer of the Week.

Wisconsin RB Melvin Gordon enjoyed the single-game rushing mark for exactly one week because that’s how long it took Oklahoma RB Samaje Perine to break it. The Sooner freshman tallied 427 yards on 34 carries, scoring five touchdowns in a 44-7 rout of Kansas. It was enough to best Gordon’s mark by 19 yards.

UCLA QB Brett Hundley shined in the rivalry spotlight with 326 yards passing and three touchdowns as the Bruins bested USC 38-20. Hundley also broke UCLA’s all-time total yards mark.

Needing to win out to capture the SEC East, Missouri DE Markus Golden helped take the Tigers’ defense to new heights. He was a constant presence in the backfield against Tennessee, tallying six tackles and two sacks in a 29-21 win.

Speaking of defensive momentum, Arkansas DE Trey Flowers has helped transform the Razorbacks into one of the SEC’s top units. He finished with six tackles, one sack and three QB hurries as Arkansas posted its second straight shutout with a 30-0 win over Ole Miss.

Update: Thanks for your votes on our social channels. Your #HOFPerformer for Week 13 is Oklahoma's Samaje Perine!
