We Are Thankful for Football!

November, 26 2015

Thanksgiving weekend football is the best type of football! Why? Because the final regular season weekend is always the most anticipated weekend of the season. A small number of teams will become bowl eligible and others will play their final game of the 2015 collegiate season.

Oklahoma vs Oklahoma State and Notre Dame vs. Stanford are undoubtedly the two biggest playoff berth contests being played over the weekend. However, let’s not forget about the bowls! The American Athletic Conference will host a fiery clash between the Navy Midshipmen and the Houston Cougars that will declare a spot in one of the 6 major bowls.

Many teams are looking to keep their playoff hopes alive this weekend and avoid any chances of unwelcome upsets. Heated rivalries like Michigan vs. Penn State, Florida vs. Florida State and Alabama vs. Auburn are just a few to name.

Though the FBS teams will start their playoff matchups in a few short weeks, the NCAA FCS playoffs will begin this weekend with eight first round games. Division II and Division III will start their second round this weekend and lastly the NAIA tournament has already begun their quarterfinal stage with four games this weekend.
