Chick-fil-A College Football Hall of Fame debuts new special exhibit, “Huckin’ & Buckin’: The Photography of Jim Laughead & Brad Bradley”
The many works of two of the most well-known sports photographers will be on display in the Specialty Exhibit delivered by UPS for a limited time
The Chick-fil-A College Football Hall of Fame unveiled its latest exhibit featuring a collection of photographs by the famed duo of Jim Laughead and Brad Bradley. Laughead began taking sports photos in the late 1930s and Bradley joined after World War II as the two launched their collective work taking publicity stills of college teams throughout the south and southwest U.S. Over the years they developed their iconic style and made photographic innovations that broadened their reach to the national level.
Their craftsmanship led to other sports assignments including major league baseball and professional football. Now in his mid 90’s, Bradley is still an active photographer having recently completed his 70th Cotton Bowl. Fans can view examples of their work from the mid 1930’s to the 1980’s. Greats such as Whizzer White, Doak Walker, Roger Staubach, Archie Manning, Joe Theismann, Dick Butkus and Bear Bryant were all subjects of Laughead and Bradley.
“Jim Laughead and Brad Bradley were trailblazers who defined the art of posed action shots in sports photography. Their contributions to the game can be seen today throughout our building,” said Dennis Adamovich, CEO of the Chick-fil-A College Football Hall of Fame. “We’re honored to have this piece of history with us and fans will love seeing this photography up close, all summer long.”
