Center for Civil and Human Rights and College Football Hall of Fame and Chick-fil-A Fan Experience Added to the 2015-2016 Atlanta CityPASS Program

Atlanta (January 28, 2015) — Beginning March 1, the new Center for Civil and Human Rights and the College Football Hall of Fame and Chick-fil-A Fan Experience will join the Atlanta CityPASS® program. Atlanta CityPASS ticket booklets provide discounted entry to five of Atlanta’s top attractions—including Georgia Aquarium, World of Coca-Cola, Inside CNN Studio Tour and others—while saving travelers nearly half off regular combined admission prices and allowing them to skip most main-entrance ticket lines.

The Center for Civil and Human Rights, opened just last year in downtown Atlanta, connects America’s Civil Rights Movement—as well as Atlanta’s pivotal role in that journey—to other human rights struggles around the globe, both contemporary and historical. The Center for Civil and Human Rights features a rotating exhibition of items from The Morehouse College Martin Luther King Jr. Collection, through which visitors can view the personal papers and items of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.; the interactive “Spark of Conviction” gallery, which gives guests an understanding of how the struggle for human rights affects every person on the planet; and a re-creation of a Freedom Rider bus and other Civil Rights touchstones in the “Rolls Down Like Water: The American Civil Rights Movement” gallery.

While The Center for Civil and Human Rights houses thought-provoking exhibits and murals that relate to the Civil Rights Movement, the building itself offers a subtle message of hope and brotherhood. Its curving walls embrace the interior exhibits and program spaces in a manner that suggests the joining of hands. This powerful gesture also alludes to the idea that people from all walks of life can work together toward a common goal.

Goalposts and gridiron are at the heart of the newly opened College Football Hall of Fame and Chick-fil-A Fan Experience. This high-tech homage to college football is state-of-the-art and highly interactive. On a 45-yard replica of a football field, guests can take a shot at kicking a field goal, move on to a quarterback challenge to rate their throwing accuracy, and wrap it all up with an obstacle course that tests agility and flexibility. Even something as typically mundane as an admission ticket gets a 21st-century makeover here. Upon entry to the museum, guests can register their All-Access Pass to personalize their experience. The pass has an embedded RFID chip that “communicates” with the exhibits, causing a favorite team’s helmet to light up on the three-story helmet wall and providing team-specific content along the way.

The greatest legends in college football history are forever enshrined in the College Football Hall of Fame gallery, which captures the stories and accomplishments of the players who broke records and won hearts. Guests can also duck into the Game Day Theater to watch an ultra-high-definition 4K feature film, “The Game of Your Life.” The film gives guests a behind-the-scenes look into the experience of a game day through the perspectives of former players and coaches.

As of March 1, the start of the program year, each 2015 Atlanta CityPASS booklet will save visitors 44 percent off combined admission to the included attractions: Georgia Aquarium, World of Coca-Cola, Inside CNN Studio Tour, a choice between Zoo Atlanta or the Center for Civil and Human Rights, and a choice between Fernbank Museum of Natural History and the College Football Hall of Fame and Chick-fil-A Fan Experience.

Atlanta CityPASS prices, starting March 1: $79 for adults (a value of $140.50); $64 for children, age 3-12. (Note: All prices are tax inclusive.) Ticket booklets can be purchased online at CityPASS.com or at any of the participating attractions. Ticket booklets are valid for nine consecutive days, beginning with the first day of use.

For more than 17 years, CityPASS ticket booklets and admission cards have been premier products for travelers who want to visit a destination’s top attractions while enjoying significant savings. CityPASS booklets/admission cards, which have a 95 percent customer recommendation rating, are available for New York City, Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Houston, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Seattle, Southern California, Tampa Bay and Toronto.
