BIO

Steve Eisenhauer was a great athlete, student, and leader in the nation's armed forces. He was a first team All-America guard for Navy in 1952 and 1953. The Washington Touchdown Club honored him as "Outstanding Local Player." He also was named Academic All-America; he had a 3.3 grade point average on a 4.0 scale, and in 1992 he was named to the GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame. He added a graduate degree in aeronautical engineering from the Naval Postgraduate school, and a master's degree from George Washington University in 1971. Eisenhauer served as an operations officer in Vietnam in 1966-67, flew 120 combat missions; he retired in 1975 with the rank of lieutenant colonel in the Marine Corps. Among his military decorations: Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Navy Commendation Medal with Combat "V", and Air Medal with eight Gold Stars. After leaving the military, he became a member of the executive committee for the Naval Academy and served as consultant to the Naval Systems Command on military and missile programs.
