Dick Duden began his career at Navy as a blocking single wing quarterback on offense, and a linebacker on defense. In 1945, he was moved to end. He received the Naval Academy Athletic Association Sword as the top athlete in his class. Duden served as a Navy officer 1946-49, played one year with the New York Giants, and returned to Navy as assistant football coach at the Academy.
