Ranked matchups dominated last week’s slate of college football action, and the biggest stars shined under the brightest lights. These players turned in showings worthy enough to be considered as Hall of Fame Performers of the Week.
Avenging a heartbreaking loss to Michigan State in last year’s Big 10 Championship Game, Ohio State quarterback J.T. Barrett shredded the Spartans’ highly-ranked defense for 300 yards passing and three touchdowns, while also running for 86 yards and a pair of scores.
Corey Colman put Baylor back in the College Football Playoff picture with dominating performance against Oklahoma. The wide receiver finished with 15 catches for 224 yards and a touchdown, while also running for a score.
Texas defensive end Cedric Reed fueled one of the weekend’s biggest upsets as the Longhorns knocked off West Virginia. The 6-foot-6 junior had 12 tackles, four tackles for a loss, three sacks and a forced fumble. His fourth quarter sack of Mountaineer quarterback Clint Trickett resulted in a safety that was the icing on the cake for Texas.
In a rivalry that thrives on defense, Alabama linebacker Reggie Ragland carved out his place in the storied series. The Crimson Tide junior tallied 13 tackles and helped limit LSU to a mere 2.5 yards per carry en route to a 20-13 overtime win.
UPDATE: Thanks for your votes. Ohio State quarterback J.T. Barrett is your #HOFPerformer!
