College Football Hall of Fame Unveils Matchday Experiences and New Exhibit for World Cup Visitors in Atlanta
A must-visit Atlanta destination offers live match viewing, expanded hours, immersive exhibits and Southern hospitality for the thousands of fans coming downtown
ATLANTA (May 21, 2026) – As Atlanta prepares to welcome the world for the World Cup, the College Football Hall of Fame is inviting fans to experience the tournament from the heart of downtown through a series of matchday activations that includes live match viewing, expanded hours and a new specialty exhibit exploring the global connections between football and fútbol.
Conveniently located between Centennial Olympic Park and “Atlanta Stadium,” The Hall will serve as a comfortable, climate-controlled gathering place for fans throughout the tournament, offering fans a welcome break from the summer heat and crowds without missing the excitement unfolding across the city. Throughout the summer’s tournament, The Hall will offer special ticket packages available both online and at the Box Office and will extend its hours from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm on select match days including June 13-July 1, July 7 and July 15.
“As Atlanta welcomes the world for the World Cup, the College Football Hall of Fame is proud to give visitors another iconic sports experience to add to their trip,” said Kimberly Beaudin, President and CEO of the College Football Hall of Fame. “From match viewing opportunities and our indoor playing field to our immersive interactives and a special exhibit celebrating the connections between soccer and football, we invite fans from around the globe to experience everything The Hall has to offer.”

Inside The Hall’s 45-yard indoor playing field, fans can gather to watch matches live from around the country on the venue’s 36-foot HD jumbotron, creating a communal viewing experience in an air-conditioned setting. With ample space to relax, seating throughout, access to restrooms and a bar on the playing field, which will serve beer, wine, spirits, Coca-Cola products and more, The Hall offers the ideal destination for pre-match and post-match gatherings, as well as a place for patrons without match tickets to still experience the excitement of the tournament.
Timed to coincide with the city’s role on the global stage, The Hall will also debut a new specialty exhibit, “Football: One Name, Two Games,” on Friday, June 5. The exhibit explores the shared history and evolution of international fútbol and American college football, highlighting the deep connections between the world’s most popular games.
The exhibit traces the origins of early ball games that led to the development of Football Association rules in the 1800s, the divergence between soccer and rugby and how American college football evolved from those foundations through innovations pioneered by Walter Camp. Visitors will also discover the modern-day similarities between the sports before exploring the global reach of college football today, with artifacts and stories from programs spanning the globe.
Specifically, visitors will encounter a curated collection of artifacts that bring the exhibit’s story to life, including:
- Ancient football replicas to trace the evolution of the ball from stone and straw to rugby-style balls using inflated animal bladders to modern designs
- A 1950 straight-on kicking shoe to help demonstrate the differences between kicking a football and kicking a soccer ball
- Game-worn equipment from around the world such as the Reading Knights in the United Kingdom, Japan’s Nihon University Phoenix, and South Korean National Football Team.
Whether exploring the global connections between football and fútbol or joining fellow fans inside to watch live matches on the giant videoboard, the College Football Hall of Fame offers fans a uniquely Atlanta way to experience the excitement and energy of one of the world’s biggest sporting events.
