Reggie Bush's 2005 Heisman Trophy Reinstated: College Football Hall of Famer's Legacy Restored

On Wednesday, April 24th, The Heisman Trophy Trust made a significant announcement regarding the reinstatement of the 2005 Heisman Memorial Trophy to esteemed USC Trojans running back Reggie Bush.

"We are pleased to welcome Reggie Bush back to the Heisman family to honor his collegiate achievements," said Michael Comerford, President of The Heisman Trophy Trust. "Considering the notable changes in college athletics in recent years, we believe that now is the appropriate time to reinstate the Trophy for Reggie. We are delighted to extend this recognition to him."

Reggie Bush, renowned for his remarkable contributions to college football, played a pivotal role in Southern California's success, contributing to two national championships and achieving a remarkable 37-2 record during his tenure at the Coliseum. A native of Spring Valley, California, Bush stands as the 34th Trojan to be inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame.

As a consensus First Team All-American in 2004 and a unanimous selection in 2005 as an all-purpose player, Bush's accolades include the Doak Walker Award, the Walter Camp Player of the Year, the AP Player of the Year, and the Sporting News Player of the Year in 2005. Despite finishing fifth in the Heisman Trophy voting in 2004, Bush's impact on the field was undeniable, contributing significantly to his team's success.

During his tenure in Los Angeles, Bush led the Trojans to three consecutive national championship appearances, securing victories at the 2004 Rose Bowl and the 2005 Orange Bowl. The Trojans' dominance under his leadership was evident, consistently ranking among the nation's top teams and cementing their legacy in college football history.

Setting numerous NCAA records and earning prestigious awards, Bush's contributions to the game were unparalleled.
