College Football Hall of Fame and Coca-Cola Team Up on Sustainability

COLLEGE FOOTBALL HALL OF FAME AND COCA-COLA TEAM UP ON SUSTAINABILITY

The partnership includes the creation of a new exhibit to educate the next generation of fans on this critical issue

ATLANTA (April 22, 2022) – In celebration of Earth Day, The Chick-fil-A College Football Hall of Fame and The Coca-Cola Company announce plans design an educational exhibit focused on protecting the earth and inspiring future generations to do the same.

The Coca-Cola Company’s World Without Waste program is a sustainable packaging initiative to collect and recycle a bottle or can for every one sold by 2030. The company is committed to making 100% of its packaging recyclable by 2025 and using at least 50% recycled material in its packaging by 2030. To support these initiatives, Coca-Cola will also provide the Hall with new DASANI “Give It Back” recycling bins for use throughout the facility.

“We strive every day to make a lasting impression on the thousands of guests who visit us each month, and it is equally important to minimize the impression we leave on our environment,” shares Kimberly Beaudin, President and CEO of the Hall. “We thrilled to join forces with Coca-Cola and grateful for the opportunity to be a part of their World Without Waste campaign.”

A focus on sustainability is nothing new for the LEED Certified College Football Hall of Fame. Beginning with its location in the heart of downtown Atlanta, the site was thoughtfully selected to provide easy access to sustainable transportation methods, including rapid transit, public transportation and bicycles for both guests and team members. During construction, recycling scrap metal and wood was a top priority, and strict processes were put in place operationally to remain vigilant in waste and recycling efforts.

Daily operational initiatives include a complex lighting system comprised of over 3,000 lamps and fixtures, 95% of which are either LED or fluorescent and the Hall’s water usage, HVAC systems and storm drains operate by very specific energy and conservation criteria.
