Bio

Lynn Thomsen set one record that no one else in college football has ever matched. He started 50 games and was never on a losing side. He played four years for the Augustana (IL) Vikings, beginning in 1983, and their record was 49-0-1. The Vikings won four straight championships in NCAA Division III. They won the championship game in 1983 over Union (New York) 21-17, in 1984 over Central (Iowa) 21-12, in 1985 over Ithaca 20-7, and in 1986 over Salisbury State 31-3. Thomsen stood 6-2, weighed 230, and played defensive tackle. He was a three-time all-conference choice and was named Defensive Player of the Year in 1986 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin. In 1986, he also made All-America in his division. Thomsen, a native of Normal, Illinois, also lettered in wrestling and was an honor student.
