Bio

Boston College end Gene Goodreault was a key member of two of BC's greatest teams. In Coach Frank Leahy's first season at BC, the Eagles rolled to a 9-2-0 record. That year they held half of their opponents scoreless, held four to seven points or less and ran up 216 points on offense. Leahy's second Boston College season was sensational: an 11-0-0 record, 320 BC points to 52 opposition points and 6 shutouts. Fast and powerful, Gene Goodreault was outstanding as a pass-catcher and play-making blocker on offense and as a destructive tackler on defense. In 1940, Goodreault was a consensus All-America. He was a second round NFL draft pick of the Detroit Lions.
