Bio

A three-time Division III All-America, Scott Reppert began his career as a backup to All-America Bruce Barkwill. In limited action he gave a preview of what he would accomplish over the final three years of his career. In just 30 carries he gained 255 yards and scored three touchdowns. In one game he came off the bench to rush for over 100 yards. Reppert had sprinter's speed as well as the strength to carry two and three tacklers. His skills made him a constant threat where he had the potential to turn any carry into a touchdown. "He could just find a crease, where the hole developed," former Lawrence coach Ron Roberts said of Reppert. "We'd run to an area, but it was up to him to pick a hole." When he became a starter as a sophomore, he gained 1,223 yards in eight games for an average of 152.9 yards per game, a figure that would lead the nation. Scott's figures improved each season as he became the first Division III player to lead the nation in rushing for three consecutive seasons. Scott led the Vikings to three Midwest Conference championships and they were a semifinalist in the 1981 Division III playoffs. During their playoff run, a 78-yard touchdown run put Lawrence into the lead for a victory over Minnesota-Morris. In addition to his many athletic achievements, the Academic All-America was featured in Sports Illustrated due to his many community service efforts.
