Bio

When Ronnie Mallett arrived on the Central Arkansas campus as a freshman, his high school background in Pine Bluff, Arkansas did little to create waves of excitement among Bear coaches. Besides, UCA already had a two-time all-conference wide receiver on the roster. But when Clifton Ealy was injured, Mallett stepped in. His speed and competitive instincts made him one of the team’s most improved players in a productive freshman season. The next year he became a full-time starter and was named an NAIA All-America. Playing in a run-oriented offense, he still caught 39 passes with 14 of them going for scores as he averaged an incredible 27 yards per catch. Mallett continued as an all-conference and All-America player in both his junior and senior years. A motivating and inspirational leader, Mallett was part of three conference title teams. He closed his career with nine 100-yard receiving games and three 200-yard games, and left holding nearly every Central Arkansas receiving record. Mallett played professionally with the Oakland Invaders of the USFL.
