Bio

Dennis Onkotz came out of Northampton, Pennsylvania, to star for Penn State. He was a consensus All-America linebacker in 1968 and 1969. Penn State had an 11-0 record both years and won Orange Bowl games against Kansas 15-14 and Missouri 10-3. During his three seasons as a linebacker he intercepted 11 passes and ran three interceptions for touchdowns. He also was Penn State's punt return man which was a b=very unusual duty for a linebacker. In three years he returned 47 punts for an average of 13.2 yards. He led the team in tackles with 71 in 1968, and 97 in 1969. In 1969, he was named Academic All-America. He graduated with a degree in biophysics. Onkotz played pro one year with the New York Jets. An injury ended his playing career.
