The College Football Hall of Fame opens its archive to curate a limited-run exhibit featuring rarely seen artwork from 12 renowned artists. The Art of College Football exhibit captures the passion, pageantry, traditions and many of the most memorable moments in college football. The centerpiece of the new exhibit is a collection of four Arnold Friberg paintings commissioned in 1968 to celebrate The Centennial of College Football. These significant works were donated to the Hall of Fame in honor of the James and Andrea Clarke Family. The four paintings remain on permanent display in the Clarke Family Gallery.
The Art of College Football exhibit also features 15 original serigraphs by noted sports artist LeRoy Neiman. These works are portraits and action scenes of Hall of Fame coaches and players created between the 1970s and 2000s. They include Bear Bryant, Bob Devaney, Johnny Rodgers, Archie Griffin, and Danny Wuerffel. The Neiman paintings were generously donated to the Hall of Fame by the LeRoy Neiman and Janet Byrne Neiman Foundation.
The new, special exhibit also includes works from noted artists, including:
