Atlanta Hall Management, Inc. (AHM) operates the Chick-fil-A College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta located in the heart of downtown Atlanta across from Centennial Olympic Park.  The Hall opened its doors in August 2014 and has secured its reputation as one of the nation’s most engaging and interactive experiences.  The Hall of Fame’s mission is to educate, entertain, connect, and inspire our guests in a way that celebrates, honors, and preserves the people, traditions, and passions of college football.


Job Summary:
The Historian and Exhibit Designer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing exhibits and serving as point-contact for Historian-related materials.


Role, Responsibilities, and Key Performance Areas:


  • Exhibit Designer and Fabricator
    • Identify and develop ideas for permanent, temporary, and changing exhibits using written, archival, digital, and interactive components
    • Work with exhibit design and fabricators to create a feasible, cost effective, solution to make the exhibit concept come to life
    • Implement ideas into reality in a visually pleasing and engaging exhibit
    • Develop new digital exhibit ideas with Sponsor goals and requirements
  • Historian
    • Write articles for in-house and external publications
    • Answer historical questions for media, public and staff (subject matter expert as necessary)
    • Identify articles and artifacts for documentation into our archival database
  • Talent Relations
    • Establish, develop, and maintain relationship with various Hall of Fame members and families (past and present) for the purpose of knowing whom to invite or which stories to highlight as appropriate and obtaining archival items for donation or use
    • Participate in large scale events related to Hall of Fame member attended events (bowl activations, homecoming, golf tournament, salute).
    • Bridge mission and ongoing initiatives between Hall of Fame and NFF


  • Content Development
    • Develop content strategy for the attraction to ensure that media interactive(s) are up-to-date with relevant content (statistics, information, photos, video)
    • Provide strategic oversight of development and implementation of multi-year exhibition program, including temporary/rotating in-house exhibits and traveling exhibitions
    • Plan and oversee exhibition production schedules
    • Deliver media content (website and social media) and artifacts strategies that are historically accurate and are understandable to both the seasoned and novice college football fan and visitor audiences
    • Assist Hall team in securing exhibit sponsors; work with Marketing team to recommend promotional opportunities that highlight the attraction and associated sponsorship and membership benefits
    • Develop content strategy for special event partners that rent the entire facility, or an area in the facility
    • Develop relationship with various Hall of Fame members for the purpose of knowing whom to invite or which stories to highlight as appropriate


Knowledge, Skills, Attributes and Abilities:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Museum Studies, History, Sports Management or related field required
  • 5 or more years of experience in position with increasing responsibilities
  • Passion and insatiable thirst for the Sports required, College Football preferred
  • Knowledge of historical and current College Football facts
  • Ability to develop and implement displays with basic artistic abilities (ex. knowing how best to stage different materials and artifacts)
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills are critical
  • Strong communication skills (writing and public speaking) required.
