BIO

Danny White quarterbacked Arizona State to a 32-4 record in three years 1971-73. That included three championships in the Western Athletic Conference and three victories in the Fiesta Bowl- over Florida State 45-38, Missouri 49-35, and Pittsburgh 28-7. White led the nation in pass efficiency and was named first-team All-America in 1973. He ended the season playing in the East-West Shrine Game, the Senior Bowl and the Hula Bowl. He also was the team's punter for three years, averaging 41.7 yards on each kick. White played for Memphis in the World Football League 1974-75 and Dallas in the National Football League 1976-88. he returned to his home state as coach of the Arizona Rattlers of the Arena Football League. White set school records for most yards gained by passing in a career, 6717 and most touchdown passes, 64. He threw six touchdown passes in a game against New Mexico in 1971. Danny White is from a family tradition. His father is Wilford White, who played at Arizona State 1947-50, made second-team All-America, and set the school rushing record, 1502 yards, for the season of 1950. Danny White grew up in Mesa, Arizona, and is the first native Arizonan to be elected to the College Football Hall of Fame.
